VERSION 1.05v -- RELEASE VERSION
1. Corrected the runtime error #3 that new users to CMPMAIL would get when
run for the first time.
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
VERSION 1.05u -- RELEASE VERSION
1. Added a CRC check to the beginning of the program. This will ensure
that every time you run CMPMAIL, you have a valid, unmodified copy
of the code.
2. Fixed the conference selection screen.
3. If the last conference was set to Non public, none of the conferences
would be allowed to be included in the mail packet. Also, if the last
conference was public, all of the conferences would be allowed to
be download. It works correctly now.
4. Added a personal count to the conference collection screen.
5. There was a runtime error 100 that seemed to always happen. Fixed.
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
VERSION 1.05 -- RELEASE VERSION
1. When in the configuration section, choosing an option to change would
result in the entire screen redrawing itself. It only changes the
value being changed now.
2. If there is no messages in a conference (personal or other), CMPMAIL
will not include a 0 byte NDX file in the packet.
3. A complete rewrite of the Conference Selection screen was due. It now
shows the high message, and high message read. And looks MUCH better.
It is also easier to understand.
4. Added the following options to the main menu:
DG - Download and Goodbye (includes a press any key to return)
DH - Download and Hangup (does not include press any key)
UG - Upload and Goodbye (includes a press any key to return)
UH - Upload and Hangup (does not include press any key)
5. CMPMAIL was not updating the conference pointers when an upload ADDed or
DROPped a conference. Fixed.
6. Fixed the personal message conference.
7. Added HELP to the configuration menu. Took out the 'Ask for 0 messages'
choice.
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
VERSION 1.04 -- RELEASE VERSION
1. When a file is requested and sent, the PCBoard download counter is
incremented for those of you that run ratio boards.
2. The runtime error is GONE! CMPMAIL kept trying to divide by 0. This
caused a fatal error. No more!
3. You can now adjust the file buffers for CMPMAIL. Previously CMP needed
at least 350K to run properly. Now by adjusting the file buffers, you can
make it work in as low as 230K. This is done by adding another command
line paramater. The new format is OPTIONAL. It is implemented in the
following format:
CMPMAIL <config file> <PCBoard directory> <buffers>
Keep in mind that a smaller buffer will take quite a bit of the speed
away from CMPMAIL. A larger buffer will make CMP wiz along.
4. Z)ippy search will now work with Session Manager.
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
VERSION 1.03 -- RELEASE VERSION -- November 24, 1990
1. Personal conference is now fixed. It was putting a lot of junk messages
into the file.
2. Added who imported that message in the message uploading.
3. Sped up the message importing by about 300%.
4. The conference message pointers were being reset even when a users
answered now to the Download Packet prompt. Fixed.
5. The users name is now included on the top of the page when the user
is downloading the packet.
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
VERSION 1.02 -- RELEASE VERSION -- November 18, 1990
1. Added an option to change the packer. This is the option P) form the
main menu.
2. Cleaned up the message gathering output.
3. Version number is now in the SysOp status line.
4. Added Net Status
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
VERSION 1.01 -- RELEASE VERSION -- November 16, 1990
1. Added a ten second 'Press ANY KEY to remain online' when choosing the
'G)oodbye after transfer' option.
2. Added 'Would you like to download this packet' BEFORE compressing the
mail for download.
3. CMPMAIL now creats a Personal index file for personal messages. The
theory I used in making it work is this: The messages are only there
one time, but you will be able to view them in the personal conference
with the readers, and read them in thir respective conferences. Keep in
mind that the messages are only there one time. There is just two
indexes pointing to that paticular message in the packet. Did this make
any sense? It works, and I think you will all like this new feature.
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
VERSION 1.00 -- RELEASE VERSION -- November 14, 1990
1. On the welcome screen the SysOp's name would often get cut off. Fixed.
2. The numbers on the message gathering screen were not properly displayed.
Fixed.
3. The space for the conference name on the message gathering screen were
not large enough for the conferences that used all of PCBoards allocated
space.
4. The CMPMAIL log file was not being properly closed. Fixed.
5. Release number 1!
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
VERSION 0.12 -- BETA -- October 24, 1990
1. A user can now add and drop conferences offline. All one needs to do
is enter the message TO: CMPMAIL, and SUBJ: DROP or SUBJ: ADD. Drop
means drop that paticular conference, and add, well you get the
picture. Don't forget that users have the option to request files from
you. This is done in the SUBJ: field too. All they have to do is for
the first letter put a capitol F, and then a :. So it is:
SUBJ: F:<filename.ext>
2. The PCBoard callers log is now updated by CMPMAIL. The ONLY updating
it does is to add a line telling you what conference and message number
was imported if any. The line will be highlighted and reads EXACTLY
line PCBoard's Message Left line with a 'via CMPMAIL' appended to the
end. Here is an example:
Message Left: Support (1) Conference # 86, via CMPMAIL
3. The CMPMAIL Log file was not working correctly. I had overlooked the
fact that in a multi node system there could be A LOT of different
users in the door at the same time (Which would really mess up the
log file). To rectify this problem the log files will be named
CMP####.LOG --- #### begin the node number.
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
VERSION 0.11 -- BETA -- October 23, 1990
1. The conference selection screen was not putting the √ in the correct
place. I have now made the conferences that a user is not registered
in appear as <unregist>. This fixes the problem.
2. The message pointers were being updated when one answered N or NO to
the 'Download packet? Goodbye after x-fer' prompt. Fixed.
3. I have had a couple of you say that the dark blue (I think it looks
like purple) used thorought the CMPMAIL program was hard to see. I
have changed the color to brown. Tell me what you think. Do you
have a better color? Let me know.
4. When a user requested an U)pload of a mail packet. It would receive
it, and then ask the user to press enter before it unpacked it. I
have taken this out. It will now go directly into importing the packet.
5. After much consideration, I have decided to lower the price. Why, you
may ask... To compete with the others. I feel that this is the best
QWK mail door there is to offer. $40.00 is more then resonable (I
think)... Comments??
6. CMPMAIL now has a log file. It is created in the CMP directory, and
is called, what else, CmpMail.Log. It is a very minimal log in that
it just logs the user name, and what message number, and message base
he/she has imported a message to. I don't feel that exporting is
necessary to log. Again, tell me what you all think.
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
VERSION 0.10 -- BETA -- October 16, 1990
1. Message gathering was in much need of a face lift. I think you will
find the new display much more informative, and easier to look at.
2. Added the capability to gather just your messages in the scan. If
the user has a security level of 109 or above it will include the
messages to the SysOp also.
3. This release uses a new way to execute an external program (DSZ, and
Pkzip, and Pkunzip), I think you all will find this much better.
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
VERSION 0.09 -- BETA -- October 2, 1990
1. If conferences were left balnk between other conferences, ALL of the
readers that I know of would crash. I have now made it so that if a
conference is blank, CMPMAIL will put the name '<empty>' in the space
usually taken up by the conference. I have tried this with EZ-Reader,
and Silly Little Mail Reader, and it works just like planned.
2. When a SysOp choose L)ist users from the main meny, it would start at 0
instead of one. Now it starts at one.
3. Now a new user will be shown a brief text, and then will be put strait
into the configure menu. Tell me what you all think about this. Good,
or Bad? I like it better but . . .
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
VERSION 0.08 -- BETA -- September 30, 1990
1. So far, so good. No major bugs have been reported for over a week now.
One bug that only one person noticed what that the door was getting any
message with the ` character in the status. This (as you may or may not
know) is the PRIVATE COMMENT flag! I have fixed this.
2. Added the feature for the SysOp to view the users of the Door. I don't
know if any of you will find this usefull, but I sure do.
3. I am now using a different method of exiting to DOS to ZIP the messages,
and to run DSZBAT.BAT. The new method seems to keep the SysOp, and the
users looking at just about the same screens. Before the SysOp's side
was VERY garbled after Pkzip ran.
4. I have had a couple of requests that the file scan be a choice between
scanning A)ll File Directories, or just the U)pload Direcoty. This
is included in this release of the code.
5. When a user chose G)oodbye after the transfer, the door was dropping
carrier, and PCBoard would log a Drop Carrier in it's log. I have
fixed this.
6. Sometimes the last conference on the selection menu would just give
garbage. Fixed.
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
VERSION 0.07 -- BETA -- September 22, 1990
1. Ok, I think I have worked out all of the bugs in the conference selection
menu. I have not had any reports of lockups which were inevideable with
the old conferences selection screen. Also, some cosmetic surgury was
done to CMPMAIL, some might notice, come might not.
2. In the selection screen users can choose conferences that are not listed
BUT that they are registered in. This was putting a √ next to a random
conference when the conference selected was not on the screen.
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
VERSION 0.06 -- BETA -- September 18, 1990
1. I finally broke down and re-wrote the selection menu. I think you all
will like it MUCH better. It now leaves the conferences that the user
is not registered in out of the choices COMPLETELY.
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
VERSION 0.05 -- BETA -- September 10, 1990
1. The last message from each conference that a user got mail in would leave
out the last 128 bytes of the message. Now you will get the full message.
2. The version number was never correct. It is now, and will be in all the
next versions.
3. The Fatal Error 200 has been fixed (I hope!) Tell me what you find out.
4. Going into the door, setting your pointers, and exiting w/o downloading
a packet would not set your pointers in PCBoard. Now it does. Fixed.
5. A couple of mis-spellings were fixed.
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
VERSION 0.04 -- BETA -- September 11, 1990
1. Just added the new DEMO registration into CMPMAIL
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
VERSION 0.03 -- BETA -- September 9, 1990
1. The Control.Dat file was not being made properly which caused Qmail
Delux to crash, and possibly some other readers to do the same. Fixed.
───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
VERSION 0.02 -- BETA -- September 4, 1990
1. The bulletin gathering has been fixed.
2. The Local 'Where do you want to put the packet' is now seen locally.
The status line was writing over it.
3. Any user with access of 110 or above will get ALL messages in the
packet.
4. The message pointers WERE being set to high when a user locally, or
remotly aborted the x-fer. Fixed.
5. Added 'Press ENTER to continue:' after a user d/l's a file.
